Press Flowers
Go for a walk and collect some flowers or unusual leaves. When you get home/back to class carefully spread them out on a piece of baking paper or wax paper. Place another piece of paper on top of them and then carefully put them inside a big book. Leave them for a few weeks to dry out. After they have dried flat, you can use them to create beautiful art or make gorgeous greeting cards. You could glue them to strips of card, and then laminate them, or cover them in clear adhesive book covering, to make bookmarks.
If you want to dry flowers more quickly, you can do it using a microwave! Just carefully place the flowers flat inside a piece of folded baking paper and then place a paper towel underneath this, and another one on top. Put this pile into the microwave with a flat heavy plate on the top (you could use a ceramic tile if you have one). Microwave in 30 second bursts until the flowers are dried.
