Nature Connectors are a free collection of ideas and activities, in English and te reo Māori, to connect you to nature in your local green space, backyard, or school. Our vision is to have a one-stop-shop of free, easy to use, activities to pick up and run with. We have added ideas for extending and adapting each one for use with different ages and in different environments. We have also added supporting resources, links, printables and videos. You will also find information about New Zealand’s plants and animals, and how to protect them here.

Through the Online Nature Classroom children will learn about the unique flora and fauna of Aotearoa, and the important role that each species plays in the ecosystem.

Each conservation theme is broken down into five days of activities. Each unit contains hands-on activities, inquiry questions, informative videos, and a fantastic read aloud book with a follow up activity.
