They asked to use some of our resources, including our bug hunt to give out to children who came along. We went in to take a look and were blown away by the number of native plants in the museum courtyard garden. We decided to make a special scavenger hunt that would link the native plants with the bug theme. Our hunt is designed to get people looking at our native plants a bit differently. We are passionate about teaching people the connections between our flora (plants) and fauna (animals). Many of our native plants have specific animals that rely on them as a host plant for their babies, a habitat, or for food. That’s why it is important to restore our native forests in order to bring back biodiversity.
Look for these plants in the museum courtyard and entrance way and then do a bug hunt! Good luck!
