2021 Student Leadership Team(s) Applications

Applications have now closed!

Thank you to the 52 students who applied this year. We look forward to working with you soon.

If you are a school-aged Taupō youth, you are welcome to apply for a position on our 2021 Kids Greening Taupō Student Leadership Team(s). In 2021 we will be having two teams, a junior team, and a senior team.

At Kids Greening Taupō our vision is to have all Taupō children learning about, and taking action for, our native plants and animals. We aim to connect rangitahi/youth to nature, and to green our town!

Through the Student Leader role, Taupō rangatahi gain on-the-ground experience in leadership and conservation mahi. Students are provided with a variety of opportunities to take action for the environment. The Student Leadership programme is an extra-curricular activity, run by the Kids Greening Taupō education coordinators. Students will have monthly meetings, after the first three consecutive weekly meetings. All meetings will be held on Tuesday afternoons/evenings. Our junior team will start at 3:30pm and finish at 5:30pm. Our senior team will start at 5pm and finish at 7pm.

Our first three meetings are as follows (location TBC):

-Tuesday 16th March

-Tuesday 23rd March

-Monday 29th March (SPECIAL EVENT with Ruud Kleinpaste 4:00-6pm, Location TBC)

Students will need to make their own way to these meetings via parent/caregiver transport and supervision. If unable to provide transport to these meetings, please contact us as we may be able to make arrangements.

Application Process:

BEFORE starting your application: Write to us, draw a picture, make a short video (YouTube or Vimeo) or poster, or create a slideshow to answer these questions:

'Why is nature important to you, and why would you like to join the Kids Greening Taupō team?'

These need to be emailed to sian@greeningtaupo.org.nz with your full name in the subject line.

ALSO organise a reference (an adult who we can call to ask questions about you). This could be a coach/mentor (someone from your hobbies), someone at school (teacher) or another adult. They cannot be a family member, or a KGT coordinator.

Apply now.

If you require any help in completing this application form please contact sian@greeningtaupo.org.nz. Please note, there could be a delay in response due to coordinator holidays, but we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Applications will close 14th Feb 2021 5pm.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
