Rongoā Māori

Our coordinators were very lucky to take part in a rongoā Māori course with the amazing Rob McGowan (Pā Ropata), founder of Tiwaiwaka Aotearoa, and renown rongoa Māori practitioner and advocate, Donna Kerridge.

Rongoā Māori is a traditional method of healing which includes the use of plant based remedies. The rongoā level 1 workshop was run through Titoki Education and focuses on plant identification and tikanga that needs to be followed when utilising plants from the ngahere.

We learnt so much about our native forest, conservation, native restoration, and of course, traditional uses of our native plants. We highly recommend this amazing course and look forward to sharing our new knowledge with our students.
