Make a Magic Wand

Create a magic wand from natural resources!

Go on a nature walk, find an interesting stick, and then collect natural treasures to attach to it.  You could glue them on with a glue gun, tie them on with string or use rubber bands to attach things as you find them on your walk.  

 For extra fun:  Put a rubber band around the end of your wand and go for a dandelion hunt. As you find dandelion seed heads, you can tuck them under the rubber band to attach them to the end of your wand. At the end of your walk, spin around with your wand, make a wish, and watch the seeds fly away! 

This is feedback that we received from Isabella’s mum, “Isabella loved going around the garden finding things to make her wand. She wrapped the stick in yellow and green autumn leaves and stuck feathers, little pinecones and dandelions on top! Such a cool activity.” You can see Isabella’s photos below.
