Local Teachers Celebrate Environmental Projects
Taupō EEC (Environmental Educators Collaborative) held a very successful teacher sharing and celebration evening at Waipahihi School.
Teachers from local ECE centres, primary schools, intermediate schools, and high schools came together to share their stories of environmental education from the past two years.
It was really exciting to see the range of projects that have taken place in Taupō schools and centres. From restoration planting, weeding and native seedling collecting, to worm farms, compost, and vegetable gardens. From creating bike tracks, to restoring wetlands and planting for native pollinators.
It was fantastic to get so many passionate educators together in one room. As the presentations happened, successes were applauded, challenges shared, and ideas flowed, but most of all people were inspired by each other. Everyone went away full of ideas for next year.
We would like to thank those who gave up their evening in busy term 4 to join us for this event. Thank you so much for taking the time to put a presentation together and share your work with others. We loved seeing you proudly share the journeys that you have been on and being keen to support others with similar mahi.
