Student Leaders Celebrate

We started the year with 100 student leaders aged 7-18. They formed four teams, The Nature Explorers, The Kaitiaki Crew, The Predator Free Kids, and The Senior Leadership Team.

During the year they had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, including seeing baby kiwi at the Crombie Lockwood Kiwi Burrow, catfish fishing, virtual reality with Blake NZ, bush walks, listening to talks from experts, seedling collecting, nocturnal walks, bug hunts, scavenger hunts, outdoor rock climbing, learning bush skills, trapping, monitoring, recording radio advertisements, weeding sessions, organising planting days, and much more.

We finished the year at the Botanical Reserve with a big pizza dinner, outdoor games, and a Secret Santa gift swap. Special thanks goes to Kairi and Maddie from the senior team for planning the event, making certificates, and organising the games. It was a great evening of fun together for all of the students.
